Journey into Mental Health

Surprisingly, I’m not referring to her personal mental health, but rather her career in the mental health field from undergraduate to graduate degree. She was beginning to peak and her experiences in her small town were translating to unbridled success in the big city.

It all started when Sarah felt the need to counsel everyone within earshot as soon as she was able to talk. This natural propensity would continue throughout her life. Later, she enrolled in college to make her mark on the world. Not much is known about these early endeavors since I was not in contact with her. We will assume those years were quite uneventful.

On a whim, Sarah moved to San Francisco with the man who was to become her soulmate, Brian. While living there, she decided to resume her undergraduate studies at SNHU.

After years of dedication and hardship, she managed to graduate with honors. It wasn’t enough for her though. She wanted more. The studying, exams, and papers were like sweet pecan potato pie to her palate. She was ready to pursue a graduate degree and nothing would stand in her way including the high cost.

Her graduate degree started in the same way every great quest starts for Sarah. She set out on the dusty path, now under the bright lights of New York City, with only her trusty fierce spirit and rock hard abs. Her confidence was unflappable.

Would she fail and quickly recede into the bushes of obscurity? Or would she embrace the moment and soar on the winds of generation-defining success? Hint: she soared.
